Splintered

Splintered - A.G. Howard

WOW!!!!!! This book was so AMAZING!! A great twist on the original Alice in Wonderland story. Alyssa Gardner, a high school girl who is a descendant of Alice Liddell, can hear the voices of plants and insects. In fact, all the female descendants of Alice are cursed. It all started when Alice Liddell fell through the rabbit hole and ends up in Wonderland. When she was in there she made some mistakes and got cursed. Now, Alyssa, determined to prove that Wonderland is real, and determined to stop the curse, goes through the rabbit hole. But, her secret crush, Jeb, goes in too. Now Alyssa and Jeb discover all about Wonderland and how things aren't as simple and good like in Alice in Wonderland. In fact it's just plain creepy.

Let me tell you why I loved this book. First of all, the plot was gorgeous, it was complicated, but not that complicated. It had a lot of action but not too much. The descriptions of the book were so vivid and real, I felt I was with the characters and facing the horrors Alyssa was facing. The story and descriptions were very creepy, the author definitely has a great imagination! It was creepy, but in a fascinating kind of way. There's pixies, queens, and bandersnatches. Awesome, right? I would definitely recommend this book! 4 stars! And the cover, fascinating and creepy!!!!!
