This was a short read for me, taking me 3 hours to finish. But, I had a few problems with the book. First of all, the story was very similar to the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. Both books was about people fighting demons and stuff. Stopping demons from taking over the world. Also, the characters were disappointing. The main character, Kennedy, spends most of the novel being weak, and having no self-confidence at all. I can't connect to her at all. Also, you know when the character learns something new about her world or herself, and doesn't believe it? I dislike those parts of the book, I just want to punch the character and yell, " Why can't you have any IMAGINATION!". The self-doubt and disbelief period of this book is very long. :(
I was disappointed with this book. I also didn't care for the author's Beautiful Creatures series, which was just too boring.
