The Fellowship of the Ring

The Fellowship of the Ring - J.R.R. Tolkien

I didn't find this book very special, it was kinda long and wordy. The whole book was made up of descriptions of scenery and characters talking to each other. And, since this book was written about 60 years ago, the English is weird and was hard for me to understand. Also, there was no character descriptions whatsoever. We don't know what the goblins and orcs in this story look like, all we know is they are bad and evil and very evil and very bad. I don't really connect to Frodo, we barely hear his inner thoughts and feelings, the characters are "cardboard cut outs". The scenery descriptions were sooooo wordy, I didn't fully read them and think about them thoroughly. There were way too many places, people, and events that were mentioned, but we don't know anything else about them. Seriously, do they expect us to read the 12 Middle-Earth History Books?????? (Yes, 12!!!!!!!!). Sorry for my ranting.

I gave this book 3 stars because I finished it, even if it had a lot of negative aspects. This book wasn't terrible, just long.
